More radio history... from 1992
thru 1999, I was employed by WGHT
1500 AM in Pompton Lakes, N.J. For five of those years, I was
the creator, producer and host of The 70s And 80s Reunion, at one
time the longest-running specialty show in the station's history. I've also
worked at WRNJ Oldies 1510 in
Hackettstown, N.J. (1993-98), WNNJ
1360 AM in Newton, N.J., and at WJDM 1530 AM in Elizabeth (my first-ever
radio gig) in 1992. Additionally, in the mid 90s, I did some
volunteer work in the form of a handful of airshifts at WNTI
91.9, of Centenary College in Hackettstown.
So, what was it that inspired me to get into
radio in the first place? Well, my answer to that question is hardly
original, but still well worth mentioning: The
legendary WABC Musicradio 77. One of my favorite websites,
created and maintained by Allan Sniffen can be found at www.musicradio77.com. There, you will find everything you need to know about Musicradio, plus a neat message
board where all manner of New York radio issues are discussed.
